If you are looking for the more advanced version of this template go here.
A basic template for deviantART journals. Use ^thespook's reference to find out what each of the sections means. Hex colours can be found here - just replace ------ with the colour code of your choice. Font pixel sizes should be pretty self-explanatory. Click Download to get the text file to edit. Then once you have edited it, paste the code into the CSS part of your journal. This feature is for subscribers/seniors only. At some point I'll edit it to be the "Not-So-Basic CSS Journal Template" and include images, font faces, blah blah blah. For now this will have to do. If you use this feel free to comment... I'm really interested in other peoples' colour schemes seeing as my own is so boring. Edit 27.09.2006 - Wow, thank you *rusty-nail and ^thespook for the DD... Daily DeviationGiven 2006-09-27So you're a subscriber (and for now, beta tester) or senior who now has the power to use CSS to make your journal look pretty. Perhaps you're new to CSS though, and don't know where to start - that's where Basic CSS Journal Template by =ghostlove will help. Use her template to get a quick foundation happening, and then go learn CSS to expand upon it! (Suggested by ~rusty-nail and Featured by `thespook) Comments

I had no troubles at all editing my journal. I did it quite quickly in fact. -- Daqueran - webcomic | in print and pre-orders of Daqueran This is a really good start, though I think for those who wish to really understand what's going on that there should be explanations of why the CSS is done the way it is (ie, why does everything have !important?, why should !important be used?).
-- ~SF-Bay-Area-Deviants | me@NapalmRiot need hardware/software help? want to help others? This is really helpful. Still confuses the hell out of me.
I love being technically retarded. -- Fiona Stock and Resources Gallery Moderator |
